Design the Official Wireless Internet Access Icon


WIRED NextFest 特別推廣活動,邀請大家一起來設計一個 first-ever universal icon 來代表 wireless internet access。主要用意就是要推廣 Wireless LAN 應用以及 Hotspot 的顯目提示。

Do you have what it takes to create an internationally recognized icon?

Wireless hot spots are popping up all over the world, but they’re not always easy to find. WIRED invites you to create the first-ever universal icon to represent wireless internet access. Your winning design will then be produced and distributed throughout New York during “NY is WIRED” week and at WIRED NextFest in September.

A judging committee of technology and design leaders will select the winning design. With the help of NYC Wireless, the design will then be distributed around the world, helping to kick-start momentum for global acceptance! The grand prize winner will also receive $250 from WIRED.

To enter, send your design in vector EPS file format to with the subject line: International Wireless Icon Entry. In the body of your email include your first and last name, address, telephone number, and a brief statement about your wireless icon design.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY: Starts 12:01 AM PT 8/22/06 and ends 11:59 PM PT 11/20/06. Open to legal residents of the 50 United States/DC 18 or older as of the date of entry except employees of Sponsors. Void outside the 50 United State/DC and where prohibited. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. Prize A.R.V. $250.00.
