【Mobile World Congress 2011】 自社製品の応用範囲の広さをアピールするMediaTek
MediaTekブース バルセロナで開催中のMobile World Congressでは、無線通信などの半導体メーカーMediaTekも出展している。 MediaTekは台湾の新興企業で、工場を持たない、いわゆるファブレスの半導体メーカー。携帯電話の通信関連やGPSなどのチップも手がけていて、とくに新興市場向けの安価な端末向けのチップでシェアが高い。昨年、NTTドコモはMediaTekに対し、LTEプラットフォームのライセンス提供契約を締結している。 ブースでは、同社のチップを採用する各社の携帯電話などの製品に加え、同社のチップセットのリファレンス端末も展示されていた。リファレンス端末は、HSPA対応のAndroid端末とフルタッチフィーチャーフォン、GSM対応の低コスト端末の3種類が展示されていた。 たとえば「MT6573」というチップセットのリファレンス端末は、Android 2.2を搭載するスマートフォンになっている。通信方式としては、HSPA Rel.6に対応し、プロセッサは650MHzのARMコア。Bluetooth、無線LAN、FMラジオ、GPSなどの各種インターフェイスを備えている。このままコンシューマーが購入するような製品ではないが、チップベンダーがこうしたリファレンス機を用意することで、端末ベンダーが同社のチップを使って端末を作りやすくしている。 Androidタイプのリファレンス機 Androidタイプのリファレンス機のスペック フルタッチフィーチャーフォンのリファレンス機 フィーチャーフォンのリファレンス機のスペック 低コストタイプのリファレンス機 低コストタイプのリファレンス機のスペック さまざまな製品にMediaTekのチップが使われている 白根雅彦／ケータイ Watch

恆通高科力拚 明年出貨放量
消費性 IC 廠凌陽（2401）旗下手機晶片廠恆通高科積極切入 3G 手機市場，WCDMA 晶片已陸續獲得中國大陸客戶端認證，明年出貨量可望逐步放量，將以明年第三季達到每月百萬套為努力目標。 恆通高科自凌陽切割獨立後，已研發手機晶片約四年，並鎖定歐規 WCDMA 系統為發展方向，主要競爭對手是大陸 2G 手機晶片龍頭聯發科（2454）。恆通高科資本額約 12.94 億元，凌陽持股比例逾三成。 恆通高科總經理陳陽成指出，自行研發的 WCDMA 手機晶片初期以大陸為主要市場，現已獲得當地手機品牌客戶認證，明年將會快速成長。 陳陽成表示，WCDMA 是全球電信營運商最多的 3G 系統，初步以市場大、客戶又集中的大陸為重點市場，但印度、東南亞等市場不會放棄；未來會再陸續開發其他系統晶片。 經濟日報 記者謝佳雯／台北報導
