北美無線通訊市場高潮迭起 牽動台廠 4G 押注動向

Verizon 宣布投向 LTE 懷抱 700MHz 頻段競標 3 日將截止 近來北美無線通訊市場可說話題不斷，Verizon 宣布將採用 LTE 作為其 4G 技術發展主軸、即將於 12 月 3 日截止投標申請的美國 700MHz 頻段拍賣作業，也將吸引全球通訊產業的關注目光。因為表態將參與此 700MHz 頻段執照拍賣的業者，除既有美國電信業巨人、以及少數新創公司外，網路巨擘 Google 也已於 11 月 30 日正式宣布將參與競標，並且表示將獨自爭取 700MHz 頻段的經營執照，並非是如先前外界揣測將與電信業者合作，目前已有台灣網通設備廠商，開始評估投入支援 700MHz 頻段應用裝置的發展計畫。
